Hey there, come on in!
My name is Tracey Onyenacho and I am a LA-based writer whose work focuses primarily on political and cultural critique.
I graduated from the University of California, Irvine where I majored in Literary Journalism and wrote for the school’s newspaper, the New University.
Currently, I am the Youth Voice editor for The Imprint, a news site that focuses on the child welfare system, youth homelessness, and the juvenile justice system. Most recently, I was the editorial assistant for Colorlines. I was also the senior politics reporter for Blavity Politics, covering criminalization, racial and social justice, and the 2020 presidential campaign trail. I have interviewed prominent political figures such as Cory Booker, Julian Castro and Andrew Gillum as well as activists such as Patricia Okoumou and MiAngel Cody.
Passionate about the power that truth has in our society, I write articles for digital media publications and create content for the web that discusses topics I care about such as feminism, racial disparities, mass incarceration, grassroots organizing and much more.
When I am not writing, I am either dancing to Afrobeats, planning my next travel adventure, reading a book or laughing at the Internet.
